Drilling to commence at Apollo Project

Adelong Gold has secured all necessary approvals to commence highly anticipated drilling at the Dig Fault Zone within its Apollo Gold Project.

Previous drilling at the Dig Fault Zone has returned thick, high-grade intercepts with visible gold, underlining the project’s strong prospectivity.

The upcoming program will prioritise infill drilling and will also test extensions of known mineralisation to underpin future resource growth.

Strategically located at the northern end of the prolific Walhalla Gold Belt, within Victoria’s geological Melbourne Zone, the Apollo Gold Project lies in a region that has yielded over 4 million ounces of gold to date.

Exploration Licence EL6430 spans 102 km² of under-explored ground along the Walhalla Gold Belt. The Walhalla Goldfield has recorded historic hard-rock gold production totalling 1,510,309 ounces at an impressive recovered grade of 33.59 g/t Au—highlighting the Apollo Project’s potential for a high-grade resource.

Importantly, the project hosts faulted dyke structures of the same geological age as those seen at Fosterville and other significant deposits within the Melbourne Zone, suggesting strong potential for an analogue gold system.

Adelong Gold’s Managing Director, Ian Holland, commented:

“With permits in hand and a proven contractor engaged, we are excited to commence drilling at Apollo. The Dig Fault Zone has delivered exceptional gold intercepts in the past, and this program is designed to test extensions of these zones as we work towards defining a high-grade resource. Apollo is a key pillar in our strategy to grow a portfolio of quality gold assets in proven Victorian gold belts.”
